Description
The luxurious yet cozy interior, outstanding service and excellent food have made this the only AAA 5 Diamond restaurant in Michigan.

Chef de Cuisine Christian Madsen pairs classically prepared beef, poultry and fresh seafood with surprising and edgy accessory items such as rich chilled corn chowder served in a tiny cup, oysters in cucumber gelee with an Absolut Peppar oysterchaser and an apple dessert inside a “treasure chest” laced with Swiss cheese.

The wine cellar stocks thousands of choices. Snake River Farms Kobe Beef, Colorado Lamb and Indian River Peaches are typical of the quality ingredients.

If you prefer a room with a view, Cygnus penthouse restaurant overlooks the river, scenic downtown and also serves high-end cuisine.

1913 Room is open for lunch Mon-Fri 11:30 am-2 pm and for dinner Mon-Thurs 5:30-10:30pm and Fri-Sat 5- 10 pm.

Cygnus is open Tues-Sat 5:30- 10:30 pm. Starting Sept 7, the rooftop dining room will be open for Sunday brunch 10:30 am-2 pm.

Open to the public. Located in a 1930s hunting retreat converted into a bed and breakfast, Kelly’s Table features a warm and intimate dining space complete with exposed wooden beams, a brick fireplace, pegged hardwood floors and views of gardens and wooded grounds.

Owner Patricia Kelly Molden, a chef with 30 years’ experience, features a seasonal menu with daily specials. Start with onion soup savoyarde or duck liver pate. Recent entrees include rack of lamb with dried cherry sauce, osso buco, pecan-crusted walleye with tangerine beurre blanc, and duck and andouille sausage ragout.

End with spectacular desserts like Kelly’s chocolate pots de crème, white chocolate pear bread pudding with Frangelico sauce, or espresso crème brulee.

Don’t miss the housemade blackberry vinaigrette, perfect on the salad topped with scallions, Gorgonzola and New York strip steak. The spinach-and-fontina-stuffed pork chops with Michigan-apple buerre blanc are a favorite main course, or opt for the potato-crusted grouper with roma tomato and caper relish.
