Asparagus and Cheese Strata

Owners Susan and Keith Charak clearly love serving food to guests as much as offering lodging at their Victorian inn. Throughout the seasons the Chareks create their own original breakfast dishes and snacks. 

Breakfast, Light Entree/Brunch, Midwest Home, B & B Specials

One loaf French or Italian bread, cut into one-inch cubes

One-half medium onion, chopped

One tablespoon vegetable oil

Three-fourths pound asparagus, cut into one-inch pieces

Six slices Canadian bacon (optional)

Eight ounces Swiss cheese, grated

Four ounces fresh Parmesan cheese, grated

Six eggs

Three cups milk

Two tablespoons Dijon mustard
